From my blog : - Accessing permaculture for people with chronic illness and/or disability
- positives, challenges and suggestions for a more inclusive permaculture
Since becoming very unwell and disabled nearly two years ago, I have learnt very quickly about what it means to be a person with disabilities attempting to navigate everyday life – and within that life, being unable to access many of the things I had previously taken for granted. Given that permaculture knowledge, experience, events and demonstration sites were previously a big part of my life, I have become increasingly aware of how difficult it would be for me to now access many of these things; in some cases it would be impossible. If I can’t participate in these events that are so important in my life, I wondered how many other people are also struggling to engage and connect with permaculture because of chronic illness and/or disability.

About My Permaculture Work
I started learning about permaculture in my early twenties as a way of finding positive solutions to heal our broken Earth and her communities. In 2011 I undertook a Permaculture Design Course (PDC) with the late Patrick Whitefield at Ragmans Farm, England and then in 2013 I completed a second PDC - Earth Activist Training - with Starhawk in Cazadero, California. In September 2015 I completed the Permaculture Association (Britain) Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design. And later the same year, completed a 2 week residential course run by Looby Macnamara and Peter Cow, to improve and consolidate knowledge and skill, relating to facilitating people focused permaculture events. I write regular articles and reviews for both Permaculture Magazine and the Permaculture Women's Guild Magazine. I live in Yorkshire, England.

An Introduction To My Website
I'm really excited to announce that this year I am starting to take commissions for permaculture related illustration work, and I'm going to be launching details about this here over the next few weeks. In the meantime take a look through some of my own creative projects, shared on social media in recent months.
Welcome to my new blog, born at the festival of Samhain 2018, the Pagan New Year. Here I share regular, solutions focused examples of how permaculture can provide healing and regeneration for ourselves, our communities and our planet.
Here I share some of my favourite resources to inspire and learn from. Not all of them are specifically permaculture focused, but all have been used in someway to influence the permaculture design in my life and work.
I love sharing, connection and facilitation relating to permaculture, within various social media spaces. To find me on social media click on the icons at the bottom of this page. I also currently facilitate two Facebook Groups - Permaculture, Chronic Illness & Disability and Creative Dying Discussion . Feel free to connect with me in any of these positive, solutions focused spaces.
